Commercial Interior Design Awards 2019
The Night…
The annual Commercial Interior Design Awards has grown year on year with 2019 being announced as a record breaking attendance year, with over 1000 guests at the Joharah Ballroom, Madinat Jumeirah paying tribute to the projects, interior design firms and designers making their mark on the region’s interior design industry! It was a night full of laughs, bubbles, great food and surprises with the highlight, being awarded “Best Use of Lighting in Interior Design” for Crank!

There was some pretty tough competition, with international design firm Keane for their illuminous Sobe project as well as the wonderful Mandarin Oriental Jumeirah by Design Wilkes. We were so shocked to be declared as Winners! When the enigmatic Tom Urquhart, revealed the winning project was praised by judges for ‘Showcasing that lighting can be the standout design feature in any project’ we were ecstatic!
Crank…
This is Crank’s second interior design award this year. Previously winning ‘Leisure Interior Dubai’ at the International Property Awards. Experience this amazing studio in Al Serkal Avenue, Al Quoz and get down there to ‘Ride’! The industrial interior is on trend and the lighting is what makes all the difference to the energetic class. With a state-of-the-art and with a sound system that rivals nightclubs, differentiating it as the best Spin Studio in the region. A passionate, pulsating experience like no other!

Present to receive the award on the night were the designers, Chris Barnes, our Owner and Founder and Jen Marquez, Senior Designer, together with Maria Barnes, Office Manager, who writes the Broadway award submissions. Later Chris remarked:
“Well done to all at CID 2019… To submit, shows pride in your work. To be nominated, shows recognition for great work. To win, shows excellence. Well done to all those nominated and a big thank you to CID, a great event as always!”
