A Look Inside The Restaurant And Bar Design Awards; International Recognition For Broadway’s Design Of Lock, Stock And Barrel!

“The Restaurant and Bar Design Awards now in its ninth year, is a globally recognised design competition dedicated to F&B spaces. This year’s event was held on the 5th October in London’s redeveloped Kings Cross area of Central Saint Martins. It was attended by over 700 of the UK and the World’s best designers and their clients.

The awards attracted 980 entries from the UK, with 70 entries from other countries. Also shortlisted in the Middle East Bar category were some high-profile designers such as Keane for the design of Gold on 27 as well as LW Design with Siddharta Lounge.

“Great accomplishment…”

Chris Barnes, MD of Broadway attended the event along with Freek Teusink, Director of Solutions Leisure Group who own and operate LSB. Both were absolutely delighted to win the top award on the night! Chris said, “This is a great accomplishment for our team, proving the LSB design concept truly has an international pedigree!”

Some of the most influential personalities in design, hospitality and lifestyle were on the judging panel. This included, Justin Hardy, Director of Design & Development – Jamie’s Italian, as well as, Erin Hoover, Vice President Global Brand Design – Starwood Hotels & Resorts, along with, Dorit Hershtig, Director of Store Development –, Ralph Lauren and last but not least, Christopher Cowdray, CEO of the luxury hotel operator – Dorchester Collection who described our entry as “Innovative Design”.

Before Chris returned to Dubai, Judge Trevor Gulliver, CEO & Founder of the iconic St. John’s Restaurant in London’s Clerkenwell, invited Chris to lunch at his Michelin Star restaurant.
